Pack Meeting December 14, 2012

This news has been on the Pack Calendar since the start of the school year, but it seemed important to send along a reminder note. To ensure that we do not have the December Pack meeting on the last day of school before the vacation, our Pack Meeting for December will move up one week. Our December Pack meeting will be on December 14th at 7PM at CV Starr Cafeteria. Please put it on your calendar!

And remember to check out the Pack Website and Shutterfly Picture site from time to time to see our Pack activities come to life.

Caroling in Brewster Village

As previously announced, we will be joining the Brewster community in the annual Village Caroling and Tree Lighting on Main Street in Brewster Village at 4:30PM at the Southeast Museum on Saturday, December 1st.

If Channel 8 is to be believed, the annual holiday “craft” will cost $5 for their supplies this year. Traditionally, the staff from the Southeast Museum help the kids to make a nice holiday craft.

After the craft, we all sing our way down to the train station where they light the magnificent Christmas tree that is there. I hope former Cubmaster, Keith Greene, will be leading the way.

After the tree lighting, there are light refreshments and a second tree lighting (of a much larger tree) at the Walter Brewster House.

We hope to see you there,
Adam

Elks Car Wash and Sleepover

We are looking forward to more Summer Fun with the Pack on Saturday, August 18, 2012 for our Annual Time at the Elks Lodge on Route 22.

Once again, we are combining both the Car Wash and the Sleepover for a full day of fun. We will do 9-12AM only for the Car Wash (at the request of the Elks).  This shortened Car Wash schedule will ensure that we have energy left  for an afternoon and evening of enjoyment of the pool, the food, the S’mores, games in the field, and the campfire. You may come for the day and then head home or you may sleep over in tents at the Elks Lodge. Yes camping out right here in Brewster!

We encourage the Webelos to sleep over to gain credit towards Webelos badges. During the day, the Webelos will also have an activity to learn skills for their Handyman badge.

NOTE: As we did last year, $10 per family for barbecue and sides dinner and juice/cereal breakfast to cover our costs.

More details and a recommended packing list will be coming along soon, so keep your eye on your inbox. We do hope you enjoyed the Pack’s Lake Compounce Trip and the Red Rooster Mini Golf, and we look forward to seeing current and former cub scouts at the Elks!

The pack did this overnight a few years before our current Webelos were old enough to be scouts and the reports were that the kids of that era had a great time, and it is only an hour away.
